The Vanishing Point, by Val McDermid, tells about the kidnapping of a little boy from a crowded airport. Stephanie Harker is the guardian for her friend’s 5 year old boy. The story follows the current kidnapping investigation as well as how Stephanie ended up caring for the little boy. Stephanie is a ghostwriter and met Scarlett, a minor reality TV celebrity, writing her memoir. Scarlett lives a fascinating life as a minor celebrity and how she rose from a poor, addiction-filled family. The story in finding her little boy is just as twisty as her background.
Quick, enjoyable read.
